We are proud to share some exciting news with our patients, neighbors, and friends throughout Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast. Dr. Katherine A. Paulett, DMD, FAGD, has officially been named partner at Jupiter Smiles Dentistry. She now joins our founder, Dr. Michael J. Scherb, DMD, FAGD, in leading our practice into its next chapter.

For more than three decades, our practice has been built on personalized, relationship-based dental care. This partnership honors that history while strengthening our commitment to the families who have trusted us for years and the new patients who will join us in the years ahead.

A Milestone Three Decades in the Making

Dr. Scherb has practiced in the Jupiter area since 1989. Over that time, he has cared for generations of local families and built a practice known for clinical excellence and genuine connection. Naming Dr. Paulett as partner is a natural step in our growth and reflects our shared goal of providing long-term stability for our patients.

The partnership also brings together two graduates of the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry. Dr. Scherb and Dr. Paulett share a common educational foundation, and each brings complementary areas of expertise to our team. Together, they offer our patients a broad range of skills and experience under one roof.

Meet Dr. Katherine A. Paulett, DMD, FAGD

Dr. Paulett earned her dental degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry. During her time there, she was recognized with the Outstanding Leader Award by the American College of Dentists, an early sign of the dedication and leadership she brings to our practice today.

After dental school, Dr. Paulett completed a General Practice Residency at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas. Her residency training focused on dental trauma, surgical techniques, and the planning and placement of dental implants. This hands-on experience gave her a strong foundation in some of the more complex areas of general dentistry.

Dr. Paulett also holds certification in the administration of moderate IV sedation. For patients who feel anxious about dental visits or who need more extensive treatment, this training adds another layer of comfort and care to the experience we provide.

She is an active member of several respected professional organizations, including:

  • The American Dental Association
  • The Florida Dental Association
  • The Academy of General Dentistry
  • The American Academy of Implant Dentistry

Advanced Training That Benefits Our Patients

Dr. Paulett believes that learning does not stop after dental school. She has continued to build her clinical expertise through advanced education at The Pankey Institute, one of the most respected centers for continuing dental education. There, she completed a four-part curriculum covering comprehensive dental care, TMJ therapy, bite therapy, and advanced esthetics.

This training aligns closely with the care we provide every day. Whether a patient is looking to improve the appearance of their smile, find relief from jaw discomfort, or address bite concerns that affect their long-term oral health, Dr. Paulett's advanced education helps her evaluate the whole picture and create thoughtful treatment plans.

In 2026, Dr. Paulett received her Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry. This is a meaningful distinction that requires a minimum of 500 hours of continuing education and the passing of a four-hour comprehensive written examination. Earning the FAGD designation demonstrates a serious commitment to staying current and delivering high-quality care. With this achievement, both of our partners now hold Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry.

Rooted in Our Community

Dr. Paulett is originally from Madison, Alabama, and now calls Palm Beach Gardens home. She lives there with her husband, Philip, and their golden retriever puppy, Cowboy. Since settling in South Florida, she has become an active member of the community and the local Chamber of Commerce.

We believe that great dental care starts with knowing the people we serve. Dr. Paulett's involvement in the community reflects the same values that have guided our practice since the beginning. She shares Dr. Scherb's philosophy of treating every patient as an individual and building lasting relationships based on trust.

Dr. Scherb's Legacy of Excellence

Our founder's own career speaks to the high standard of care our patients have come to expect. Dr. Scherb is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and earned the distinction of Pankey Scholar in 2002, an honor conferred on only a select group of clinicians worldwide. Today, he serves on the faculty and board of The Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education, where he helps shape the education of other dental professionals.

Dr. Scherb's connection to The Pankey Institute and Dr. Paulett's completion of its curriculum create a shared approach to dentistry. Both partners value comprehensive care, careful planning, and treatment that supports a patient's health for years to come.

In Their Own Words

Dr. Scherb shared his thoughts on this milestone: "Dr. Paulett has demonstrated exceptional skill, dedication, and a genuine commitment to our patients since joining our team. Naming her as partner is a reflection of the trust and respect she has earned. I am excited about the future of our practice under shared leadership."

Dr. Paulett expressed her gratitude as well: "I am deeply grateful for this opportunity and for the mentorship Dr. Scherb has provided. Jupiter Smiles Dentistry has always felt like home to me, and I look forward to continuing to grow alongside our team as we deliver the highest level of care to our patients and community."

What This Partnership Means for Our Patients

For our patients, this partnership means continuity, stability, and expanded expertise. The same personalized approach you know and trust remains at the heart of everything we do. With two experienced partners leading our team, we are well positioned to continue offering a comprehensive range of dental services, including:

Dr. Paulett's partnership reflects the trust she has earned from our team and our patients, and it ensures that the relationship-based care our community values will continue for many years to come.
