Our Logo

The background of the logo is the dental insignia or caduceus, which was approved by the American Dental Association in 1965 as the official insignia of dentistry.

The design employs as its central figure the single serpent of Aesculapius, the Greek God of Medicine. The serpent is entwined around an ancient Arabian cautery. The Greek letter Delta for dentistry, and the Greek letter Omicron for Odont, meaning tooth, form the periphery of the design. In the background of the design are 32 leaves, representing the 32 permanent teeth of man’s dentition.

the central design of the logo incorporates the philosophy of The Pankey Institute, a world renowned leading continuing education facility in the field of dentistry. This philosophy incorporates the “Cross of Life”  (Work, Play, Love and Worship), the “Cross of Dentistry” (Know you Patient, Know your Work, Know Yourself and Apply Your Knowledge), and the “Four Legged Stool of Dental Health” (Hereditary Disposition, Periodontal Therapy, Nutrition, and Restorative Dentistry).
